t is pink. Not sure why it got painted, but it is pink. 

These cabinets were used by printers to store metal type. Each drawer would contain one font in one size, Today use it for storage of any flat materials or small parts. Just a beautiful functional piece of American history. Gorgeous piece, fabulous hardware, incredible craftsmanship not seen in today's furniture. 

Use it today to store your stuff or letter press type. Restore it store all your other little items. If needed the partitions in the drawers can be removed to have a flat open drawer.
